re-booted quality used equestrian clothing equipment and gear

Rebooted was founded  in 2021.

The team are all avid fans of second hand, pre-loved, pre-worn goods (and equipment) for as long as we can remember. Yet, although we have owned horses for years and collected lots of 'things' along the way, when it came to selling them, or indeed buying (too much), we realised that there was not a single place to buy (and sell) quality assured, second hand, all equestrian equipment and clothing- so, we started one.
Outside of our expensive habits - shopping and horses- One of the team members works in equine education and training as well as an interest in the lived experiences of people in the equine industry and yup, you guessed it- cost of equipment was a barrier to participation, and ultimately success.
So, marry the passion for hoarding, (we are not unique), love of horses, desire to reduce my (and yours) carbon footprint with the absolute commitment to reducing barriers to participation- one pair of breeches, book, bridle, at a time.
So, get involved and know that every purchase and sale is a good thing, for you, someone else and the environment.
Because, horses cost enough- they shouldn't cost the earth!
Thank you for being part of this movement and I hope you enjoy the ride.

Four reasons to buy second hand

- Some people don't like the idea of second hand clothing or equipment. Rebooted is keen to show you the joy, and a few reasons why second-hand is in demand:

1. It helps others. Cost is so commonly reported as a barrier to participation.  Selling your clothing/equipment at Rebooted can help others get involved or try something new
2. It’s more sustainable. It takes 1,800 gallons of water to make one pair of blue jeans. If we recycle unused clothes, that means we won’t be paying the price in the future. Aside from landfills there’s damage to the environment, loss of habitat for animals, and pollution of natural resources.
3. It saves you money. If you think buying second-hand means a second rate, you're wrong. Many items sold are in excellent condition and you will find some items that are brand new.  Items can cost a fraction of what you would pay brand new.  Once you start finding these hidden gems then you really won’t believe the savings that you can make.  So how can you start to save money and find these great bargains?
4. Reduces Landfill. We are all aware of the biggest threat to our future on this planet; Climate Change. While eliminating single-use plastic has been getting a lot of attention, and rightly so, there are plenty of other areas where we can improve as a society too.  Eleven million items of clothing end up in landfill each week in the UK – this amount is not sustainable.

Key Facts

- It is estimated that with about 600 kilos of used clothes there will be a reduction of 2250 kilos of CO2 emissions, 3.6 billion litres of water saved and 144 trees planted.
- Participation in sport varies across different socioeconomic classes. Survey data shows that population with higher socioeconomic status  and students / other were more actively engaged in sport than other categories
Rebooted hopes to use used equestrian equipment to promote sustainability, and access to opportunity
- It would take you thirteen years to drink the amount of water needed to make one T-shirt and one pair of jeans
- 73% of clothing ends up in landfill or incinerated.
- Rebooted makes it easy not just to recycle but to recycle in a meaningful way
- The cost of participation is a barrier for entry to horse sports

We are working towards reducing waste and barriers to participation, one pair of breeches at a time! Because horses shouldn't cost the earth - they are expensive enough!
